Last year around this time, I had a Spring fishing trip lined up,and then everything went sideways.
I had a full open day, was itching to get on the water, and then—BAM—every river I had in mind blew out overnight. High flows, dirty water, zero chance of success.
I stopped by Angler’s Boise, my go-to fly shop, and Jon gave me a tip that completely changed my outlook on Spring fishing:
"Forget the rivers. Go fish stillwater. It’s on fire right now."
I had no idea what I was doing, but I’d recently inherited a float tube, and I figured… why not?
I grabbed a handful of the flies he recommended, loaded up, and hit the road.
What happened next?
One of the most memorable days of fishing I’ve ever had.
Fish after fish—big, healthy, and full of fight.
My float tube getting towed around by trout as I battled them.
A massive realization: Spring is unpredictable, but if you adapt, you can absolutely crush it.
Since that trip, I’ve spent countless hours studying Spring trout behavior, changing water conditions, and matching seasonal hatches.
I distilled everything I’ve learned—both from research and my own experiences—into a guide that I wish I had years ago.
Now, I’m giving it to you—for free.
The Essential Spring Fly Fishing Guide is Here
Spring fishing is different. If you don’t adjust, you’ll spend more time guessing than catching.

The Right Flies, at the Right Time – Match key Spring hatches and know exactly what trout are eating.
Tactics That Catch More Fish – When to fish dries, nymphs, and emergers—and how to fish them effectively.
📌 This giveaway is only running for a few weeks. The deadline is April 11, and I’ll announce the winner then.
